Former Waco attorney Adam Hoffman was sentenced to 60 days in jail Monday for sexually abusing a young boy after a visiting judge, who said he was troubled by the plea agreement, doubled Hoffman’s 30-day plea deal.
Hoffman, 49, who has since moved to Nebraska, began his 60-day jail term Monday after the victim’s mother gave an impassioned victim impact statement. She said she and her son forgive him and presented Hoffman with a Bible with his name and “Truth that set you free” embossed on the cover.
Hoffman pleaded guilty April 16 to indecent assault and displaying harmful materials to a minor, both Class A misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail.
