‘Stability comes through force’: Iran’s military pledges to continue fighting

We heard, just moments ago, a reaction from the spokesman of the top joint military command, addressing the Americans, saying, “Do not call your defeat an agreement.”
He said: “There will be no sign of your investments in the region, nor will you see the previous prices of energy and oil until you understand that stability in the region is guaranteed by the powerful hand of our armed forces. Stability comes through force.”
He also said: “We clearly declare that no situation will return to the way it was before until we will it. And our first and last words from the very first day have been this: Someone like us will never come to terms with someone like you, not now, and not in the future.”
These are strong words and echo the same talking points from both the military and the political leadership from yesterday. They are saying there are no negotiations, that the Strait of Hormuz will stay in Iran’s control, and that they will continue the fight.
So, we don’t know how long this will continue. We don’t know whether there will be surprises as the day develops and whether politicians here in Tehran will announce, yes, negotiations are under way. But for now, there is only one voice here, from the military and the political side alike, that Iran is continuing this war, and that it will win through the might of its army, not negotiations.
