Apple's stock closes down 1.9% on WWDC keynote day

Apple's stock finished Monday's session down 1.9%, with losses picking up during the keynote address.
The action Monday meant that Apple shares had their worst performance on the day of a WWDC keynote going back at least 11 years. Prior to today's event, Dow Jones Market Data looked at day-of performances across the prior 10 WWDC keynotes. The 1.9% decline on Monday exceeded the 1.5% drop seen the day of the 2016 WWDC kickoff.
Apple's stock is now barely positive on the year, up. just 0.3% over the course of 2024 to date.
