As of mid-April 2026, Iran has an estimated 157 to 190 million barrels of oil in floating storage (at sea), with a large portion (174 million barrels) pre-loaded before the escalation of regional conflict. Most of this inventory is destined for China, with roughly half currently located near Singapore, often transported by a "ghost fleet".
