It took more than 30 hours for sailors to put out the fire aboard the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford last week, sailors and military officials said, as the beleaguered ship continued its monthslong slog through President Trump’s military operations.

The fire started in the ship’s main laundry area last Thursday. By the time it was over, more than 600 sailors and crew members had lost their beds and have since been bunking down on floors and tables, officials said.

Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) is preparing to leave the Red Sea to undergo repairs at the U.S. Navy base on Crete after a fire last week required several hours of damage control efforts, USNI News has learned.

Ford will travel to Naval Support Activity Souda Bay for more than a week of pierside repairs, a senior U.S. official confirmed to USNI News on Tuesday. The official confirmed a report in a local Greek news outlet that said Ford is returning to Crete.

The March 12 fire, which occurred in the aft laundry facility, resulted in a major damage control response that displaced sailors across the carrier and disrupted operations throughout the ship, the source confirmed to USNI News.

不是跟着独裁者就是爱国啊

航空母舰上洗衣房失火，不少媒体都报道了。讨论调侃这种事儿居然成了“黑美”？美国哪条法律规定不能议论此类事件？这里不是中宣部 - 只能传播所谓的“正能量”、不准报道负面消息。

政客们干些龌龊勾当，却派士兵去遥远的地方送死。战士们是保家卫国的、不是某些政客的工具。

特朗普乌漆墨黑，不需要别人再黑他了吧。只要把他的言行如实报道出来就行。

“以正治国，以奇用兵，以无事取天下。” 特朗普倒好，作为一国总统，却时不时搞些歪门邪道出来。又是想夺取格陵兰，又是派兵把人家委内瑞拉总统抓了，又伙同以色列轰炸伊朗。这还是在权力制衡和舆论媒体监督之下，否则不知道他还会出什么幺蛾子。

在美国，如果只能唱赞歌，那与中共独裁有什么区别？作为一名美国国民，可以理直气壮地批评议论各级官员和政府的政策行为。这是受宪法保护的公民权利。

第一修正案保护:

民主原则:
在自我治理的民主制度中，批评总统被视为维持问责制的必要行为。
