Sinclair Broadcast Group have announced it will preempt Kimmel’s show and replace it with live news programming.
“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return,” the media firm wrote on X.
Sinclair and Nexstar Media Group pushed for Kimmel’s removal, with the former demanding the host apologise to Kirk’s family and donate to Turning Point USA.
Sinclair's announcement came after Kimmel was set to return to the air on Tuesday after being pulled from television over his Charlie Kirk comments.
According to the New York Post, sources say that despite Kimmel’s claim that Kirk’s alleged killer was “MAGA”, he will not apologise for his remarks.
