The annual rate of inflation in the fourth quarter was unchanged at 3.3% after the government's annual revisions, showing the the price increases continue to slow toward low pre-pandemic levels.

U.S. stock futures marched to session highs Friday after revised CPI data for 2023 released by the Department of Labor showed the pace of inflation actually cooled faster than previously reported in December.

Here's where the main index futures stood at 8:35 a.m.:

S&P 500 up 0.3% at 5035.
Nasdaq-100 futures up 0.4% at 17933.
Dow futures up 116 points, or 0.3%, at 38943.
The headline reading for December was revised to 0.2% from 0.3% originally, according to a breakdown of revisions released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Treasury yields declined on the news, with the 10-year yield down 1 basis point on the day at 4.14% in recent trade.
