Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will testify before Congress next week, the first time he has answered lawmakers’ questions since July, the central bank announced Thursday.

Powell is set to testify before the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern and to the House Financial Services panel on the following day.

The Fed cut rates by 100 basis points in three meetings prior to the end of last year. In January, the Fed voted to hold rates steady in a range of 4.25%-4.5%.
